Illustrators develop and shape the visual language of our societies - they enable the communication of ideas and information with the rest of the world. Over the last two decades illustration has experienced a renaissance. The internet has drawn our world closer, the creation and spread of images is unprecedented in history. This flood of visual material has seen illustration impact the lives of people as never before, gathering audiences far beyond the world of visual art. The practices of the thirteen artists featured in The Storytellers are truly diverse and includes a range of image making in fields such as editorial publishing, poster design, sketch books, comics, street art, visual art and children’s books. |
